Let's learn some Drawing

What's Dry Brush Art?

I would say it is an expression to express thoughts, feelings, anger, passion and many emotions through paints. Some have art inbuilt and some work their way towards it. If you want to learn any art form it has to be learnt from basic.

Why is Dry Brush Art Different?

Last 15 years “DRY BRUSH” has created a method, which makes drawing easy. We start kids from basics, which is to improve drawing and then gradually introducing them to painting. We teach them how to improve obsevation and see the colors and shapes which are not visible for a person who is not an “Artist”.

What are the fundaments of Dry Brush Art & why it works?

The fundaments of drawing are to see an object as a shape then break the shape in lines. Once a student learns how to follow a line even a complex drawing becomes easy. Then the students are taught to paint that drawing in various mediums for example Oil Paints, Acrylic Paints, Water colors, Color Pencil Shading , Oil Pastels & Pencil Shading. We also teach Mix Media Paintings.

I started learning from Mrs.Tejas when I was 5. Starting from step-by-step drawing to realistic color pencil drawings, I have learned a lot from Mrs Tejas. Her guidance has helped me turn my art from a hobby to a passion. She has helped guide me in several competitions. At the age of 6, I won the City of Cupertino Art Competition in my category.

Mrs Tejas helped me grow through the one thing I love the most- art. From teaching me to color inside the lines to show- ing me the tricks of painting, she has always been there for me. Her skills as an artist are remarkable and I can only hope to one day be able to have that much talent. After 10 years of being her student, I can see a significant improvement in my artwork and all the credit goes to Mrs.Tejas for guiding me and making every mistake a teaching lesson.

I have been taking art lessons from Tejas for a very very long time and starting with her is probably one of the best de- cisions I have ever made . I started wanting to learn water color paintings and Tejas not only taught me how to do water color step by step but I also learnt how to do oil, charcoal paintings . She guides with you at what ever your level is from beginner to advanced with a very positive and encouraging teaching style .

Ms Tejas helped to channel that passion and creativity, and it was made into beautiful artwork. She created a hardworking environment for students. She helps her students express and create very unique artwork. Ms. Tejas has been a huge part of Dwija’s journey through art, and she never would have made it to the level she is right now without her. We thank Ms. Tejas for everything she has done for us.

Ami, Dwija's Mom

Tejas is a wonderful art teacher who has the unique capacity to guide students of all age groups to unleash their creativity. My kids began her class at an early age, Her continuous guidance has been invaluable in developing their motor skills, symmetry and color coordination. Beginning with oil pastels and slowly graduating to acrylic paints, they discover confidence of painting on canvases. Her constructive feedback and response while working with a kid, help them to improve their skills and leverage their imagination.

My sons started attending Ms.Tejas’s art lessons in early elementary school. Formal art training has really helped them increase their focus, patience, attention to detail and overall neatness of school work. Work- ing on an art project with Ms. Tejas involves commitment and patience and she keeps a very high standard of work. There is a great balance and mix of techniques, theory and fun practical projects. It is rewarding for kids to create masterpieces displayed at home or in their schools or at her annual exhibition!

I started taking classes around a year ago, knowing very little. I had no idea about techniques and I didn’t know how to paint or draw. Now I can say I learned a lot and can paint / draw much better. Tejas is a very patient teacher and a talented artist. I am learning a lot from her.

My girls have been learning art from Tejas since they were almost 4 years old. They have been going to her weekly class for over 8 and 5 years. You must be very lucky if you have a teacher who has made a huge positive impact in your life. Te- jas is that teacher for my girls. You may find an awesome artist however it takes a special one to teach kids. Tejas has taught them beyond colors, canvases, clay and paper. They are able to see and find art and they have a really good eye. This came with her teaching. They are truly happy in her class and love to work on different projects with her.

Kripa, Reha and Rishika’s Mom

I have always been interested in art and I knew from a young age that I would want to do something in my career that revolved around art. Mrs Tejas really helped guide towards achieving this goal of mine. Whether it be my be school art projects or my college portfolio that allowed me to get accept- ed into multiple architecture programs around the country, without her help and her guidance, I would not be where I am today.
